Chardon High's rockin' prom

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame hosted Chardon High School's prom Saturday, May 5.

KISS FM's 2012 Rock Your Prom contest began with a nomination process where listeners could vote for a local high school to win an ultimate prom package.

Students from schools across the area campaigned on behalf of Chardon High School, which suffered extreme tragedy when a school shooting killed three students and injured many others on February 27.

Area students created a Facebook page to help clinch the prom victory.

In the end, Chardon High School received more than 50,000 votes. The school won a prom package which included the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame facility, KISS FM Club DJ's, DJ E-V and DJ Pana, concert style lighting, video screens, digital effects, dinner and a live appearance by American synthpop band, Cobra Starship.
