Crews contain house fire near Cherry and Central

TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Fire crews are still containing a house fire on Cottage Avenue near the intersection of Cherry and Central Ave. in Toledo.

Neighbors say the house caught fire on Thursday as well. They also had said they thought the house was vacant. However, fire officials tell Toledo News Now that it's occupied. There are no injuries reported.

It is being investigated as suspicious.

The call came in, possibly by a passing TARTA driver, just after 6 a.m. The fire is mainly in the attic space in the back of the house.

Firefighters are calling it fairly contained at this point, but not extinguished yet. It has not spread to neighboring homes.

Other iterations included the Blades, the Hornets, the Goaldiggers and the Storm. For a short time, in 1949-50, the team was actually called the Toledo Buckeyes.
