BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - Local business growth is only a click away. That is the message of a social media webinar put on Wednesday by the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and Frontier Communications in hopes to boost the local economy.
The chamber knows in this economy, it is tough for smaller, local businesses to compete with national brands. The chamber hopes it can give area businesses an edge by teaching owners how to establish a strong web presence.
That is why the chamber is hosting social media webinars every few months. The goal is to guide local business owners through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.
The program began after the chamber realized many smaller businesses in Wood County did not know how to use social media tools for promotion.
Organizers are confident local owners will walk away from the webinars with an ability to compete with national brands and boost local economy.
"The local business growth will be great, especially with the new generation of college students and young professionals coming in. They're very tech-savvy, and this will help businesses engage the next generation and get them as a consumer base instead of having them do all their shopping online or with the national brands," said Atonn Smeltzer with the BG Chamber of Commerce
