TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Unusual circumstances led to serious fire damage to a house early Monday evening.
Smoke filled the sky when the flames first broke out at 5:30 p.m. when fire crews were called out to a house on a Foraker Avenue near the Toledo Zoo.
When crews arrived, they found the front of the house covered in flames. They quickly got to work, and kept the fire from spreading. That is when they figured out what had happened.
Someone was apparently speeding down the road and pulled his truck into the driveway right next to the house that caught fire. The truck began to smoke, and eventually burst into flames!
That fire then spread to the house.
Neighbor Areena Block witnessed the entire thing:
"He had a small pan of water that he threw on it, after that it just sort of ballooned. It was too fast."
The truck was completely burned out, and firefighters on scene estimate the house sustained up to $15,000 in damage. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and luckily, nobody was injured.
