TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Penn National will meet with the Ohio Casino Control Commission next week, in the hopes of opening Hollywood Casino Toledo in late May.
The meeting will take place in Columbus on May 2, and Penn National will make a formal presentation to the commission toward receiving its operating license to be able to open the casino.
The presentation will include an update on all of the progress that has been made to build the casino complex, install the 2,000 slot machines and have the gaming employees receiving their individual licenses.
The target date for opening in May 29, but it is not certain that the commission will be allowing that to be the grand opening day.
Penn National has already received a temporary occupancy permit from the city, as inspections have checked out structural and safety aspects of the casino building.
Once Penn National presents its case, the Casino Control Commission will review the situation, and is expected to decide if an operating license will be granted, and when the Toledo casino will open by May 9.
