East Toledo neighborhood reacts to Infant found in freezer

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - There's been a bizarre discovery in an East Toledo home.

Toledo Police say an infant has been found dead in a freezer and two people are behind bars in connection with the case.

The body was found at 116 Paine Street off Front Street.

Arrested and charged with child endangerment are 20 year old Keneisha Pruitt and 18 year old Antonio Cervantes.

Police add they are not sure of their relationship to the infant.

A landlord clearing out the house found the body.

Police are being tight lipped about the case. They are not releasing the age or sex of the infant.

One neighbor, who asked not to be identified, says a man and woman lived in the house with a young girl.

She says she had little contact with the couple.

"They kept to themselves. They were quiet. They had the little one running around out here. They moved out in the last week."

The body was found Friday night. The neighbor recalls seeing authorities swarm down on the house, taking pictures and removing evidence.

She even claims she saw someone carrying what appeared to be the body of the infant from the house.

"It's eye opening. Can't believe it happened in this part of the neighborhood."

The infant's body is now at the Lucas County Coroners Office where an autopsy will be performed.
