Victim shoots at suspects after attempted Bedford Twp. burglary

Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for three men they say lured a Bedford Township resident out of his home in an attempt to steal from him.

BEDFORD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTOL) – Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for three men they say lured a Bedford Township resident out of his home in an attempt to steal from him.

Police say one suspect got the homeowner to come into his front yard while two more entered the home through the back door.  When the homeowner became suspicious of the suspect, he went back inside and interrupted the attempted burglary in progress.  All the suspects fled as the homeowner got a hand gun.

As the suspects were fleeing in a minivan the victim fired one shot, hitting the van in the driver's side fender.  It appears no one was injured in the incident.

The suspect who spoke to the victim is described as a male in his mid 40's, 5'7" to 6' tall, 160 pounds with black hair.  He may also have a mustache. The suspect's vehicle is a white or light colored minivan with an Ohio registration.

The three men are also suspected in several attempted burglaries in the Toledo area.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Jeff Pauli at 734-224-7315.
