BGSU honors victims of March 2 crash

BOWLING GREEN, OH (WTOL) – Bowling Green State University continues to honor the 3 students who lost their lives in the tragic March 2 wrong-way crash on I-75.

Until Friday's campus-wide memorial, friends of the girls have another special way to remember them: message boards throughout campus.

Outside the student union, signs have messages written by loved ones for Rebekah Blakkolb, Sarah Hammond and Christina Goyett.

There are also messages for survivors Angelica Mormile and Kayla Somoles, who were both released from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center on Tuesday.

Junior Emily Foster, who was close to Rebekah, has had a difficult time knowing she will never see her friend on campus again:

"She was beautiful. And she was strong.."

Many other students have written remembrances and well wishes, and those will be a part of a Friday night memorial service called A Celebration of Sisterhood at the University Hall lawn.

"It's such a tragic thing for it to happen to them and it's just a good way for the whole campus to show their support for Alpha Xi Delta right now." said sophomore Katelyn Sucharski.

Friday night's memorial service begins at 6:30, and there will also be a candlelight vigil.
