The casino is hosting three job fairs in six days. The final one is Monday at the Owens campus in Perrysburg. Hiring personnel recommend to apply online first. Click for details.

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – The Hollywood Casino Toledo is looking to hire 1,200 workers and is hosting three job fairs for area residents who are interested in starting a career at the grand opening this spring. More than 27,000 applications have been submitted online, but the majority of positions are still available in every department. The job fair will focus on positions in food and beverage, maintenance and janitorial, security and surveillance, gaming operations and finance.

The first two job fairs were held on Jan. 17 and Jan. 19.

One more job fair will be held:

Jan. 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Owens Community College Student Health and Activities Center, 30335 Oregon Road, Perrysburg, OH

"We're looking for individuals with dynamic personalities who are capable of extending the red carpet service that is the hallmark of Hollywood Casinos," said Richard St. Jean, general manager of Hollywood Casino Toledo. "We offer great pay, health care, fantastic benefits and flexible work hours with the opportunity to advance within one of the fastest growing casino companies in America."

Interviews will only be conducted for candidates who have previously applied online at the Hollywood Casino. A candidate will need to apply online before attending any of these job fairs. If a candidate has previously applied online but has not heard back from a representative, he or she is still encouraged to attend a job fair.

"When you get into the job fair, the first thing we're gonna do is see if you've applied online. If you haven't applied online we're not gonna be able to move you forward in the process. If you have applied, we're actually gonna move you right into an interview so you'll have the opportunity to meet directly with a hiring manager," explained Chrystal Herndon, human resources manager.

Hiring will take place in the upcoming months.

"We're looking for around eight or 900 people still. We've got a good four or 500 down, but need eight or 900 more," explained Herndon.

That includes more than 300 people to be hired for various food and beverage positions to run three restaurants and a deli inside the complex.

"More specifically, it's our sous chef positions, cooks, bussers, servers...really all those classifications within that," said Herndon.

Gaming positions have yet to be filled also.

"We're looking for dealers and we're also still looking for some of the slot attendants, cage cashier positions as well," Herndon said.

Due to uncertainty surrounding the state licensing process, it is unclear exactly when the casino will open for business. Hollywood Casino is a drug and nicotine-free work environment and employees cannot have a criminal record. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma.
