1 woman dead, 2 injured in Royalton Township crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vechile crash that left 18-year old Cynthia M. Torres dead last night.

Royalton Township, OH (WTOL) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle crash that left 18-year-old Cynthia M. Torres dead last night.

The accident happened on U.S. 20 at the intersection of State Route 109 in Royalton Township, in Fulton County at 11:47 p.m. Friday night.

Cynthia Torres was one of two passengers in a 2002 Volkswagen Passat driven by 47-year-old Beverly V. Torres. The second passenger in that vehicle was 20-year-old Brandon J. Weisser. Everyone traveling in the Torres vehicle is from South Bend Indiana.

Beverly V. Torres was traveling northbound on State Route 109 when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Her vehicle was stuck by an eastbound 1998 Mack commercial truck driven by 35-year-old Kenneth L. Roth of Bryan, OH. Upon impact Roth's truck traveled off the north side of the roadway and rolled over.

Cynthia was transported by life flight to Mercy St. Vincent Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Weisser and Beverly Torres were transported to the Fulton County Health Center.

Both Cynthia and Weisser were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. However, Roth and Beverly Torres were wearing seatbelts upon impact.

Police do not believe that alcohol played a factor in this crash.

At this hour the Fulton County Health Center has no information to release on the conditions of Beverly Torres or Weisser.
