Searchers gathered on Thursday to participate in a massive search for Katelyn Markham that was organized by Texas EquuSearch.

Markham, 22, was last seen Aug. 13 at her townhome. She was reported missing by her fiance the next day.

The founder of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller, has been in the Tri-State since Tuesday to organize the search. Texas EquuSearch is a mounted search and recovery team that has been involved in over 1,200 searches, including high-profile cases such as Natalee Holloway and Caylee Anthony.

Miller says the search for Katelyn is difficult.

"A majority of the time there is something to lead us in some right direction, but we have nothing," he said.

Miller's colleague, David Radar, says the search will focus on an five to eight mile radius surrounding Katelyn's home. He spent Wednesday scouting areas to search and looking at maps of Butler County.

The search command center is at Fairfield West Baptist Church located at 5345 Muskopf Road. Searchers must be at least 18 years old to participate and bring a photo ID.

Another search is planned for Friday beginning at the same time and place.

Searchers are also encouraged to pack their own lunch, bring plenty of water and leave their dogs at home. They are also asked to wear long sleeves and long pants.

Katelyn is 5'3" and 130 pounds with green eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights. There is a $25,000 reward for information on her disappearance.
