EDITORIAL: High School football season is a special time for communities across the country

This is the first Friday of the new high school football season.

In towns everywhere, bands will be marching, cheerleaders will be twirling and spinning, and parents will be anxiously peering for a look at their son or daughter.

And  inevitably the game will begin - just as it does every year regardless of the economic or political conditions.

And once again the crews of WTOL 11 and BCSN will be there to capture the action.

They combine to produce the only hour and half dedicated exclusively to local high school teams.

It's special. It's unique. It's all about the kids.

So buckle up the chinstraps, and get the music going.

It's kick-off time.
