Two Crust Pie
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup + 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
1/4 cup ice water
Mix ingredients and roll to form two crusts for a 9" pie.
6 1/2 cups sliced apples
1 cup sugar
3/4 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 1/2 tablespoons granulated tapioca
Mix ingredients together and heap into pie shell.
1 stick margarine (1/2 cup)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
Mix ingredients together and add to top of apple filling. You can then cut the other crust into strips and make a lattice on the top, if you desire.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. Be sure to place pie on a tray when you bake in order to prevent spill over in your oven.
