WTOL Editorial: Good luck, Mr. Williams

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

By WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon - email

Isn't the story about Ted Williams, the homeless man who became an overnight internet sensation, fascinating?

In just a few days, more than 15 million people viewed his story on the Internet and he had two interviews on the CBS Early Show.

Also, he was reunited with his estranged mother, got job offers and now needs to sort all of this out.

A self-described recovering alcohol and drug addict, Mr. Williams has been given a second chance.

Here's hoping he keeps his addictions under control.

This story will be even more fascinating if in two years he remains clean and sober and is enjoying a successful business life.

Good luck, Mr. Williams.
