TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The Toledo Zoo is offering free admission for Lucas County residents over Saturday, Jan. 15 to Monday, Jan. 17.
County residents just need to show ID with proof of residency to receive free admission and additional special discounts on future visits to the zoo.
The zoo says the free weekend is their way of thanking voters for their support over the years.
Zoo leaders say after voters approved the zoo's operating levies in 2006, that the organization has been able to maintain its reputation and remain a top regional attraction.
In addition, Lucas County's support for the Zoo's Capital Levy has made it possible for the Zoo to develop the new Nature's Neighborhood and plan major renovations of the elephant exhibit and Aquarium.
