WTOL Editorial: Lake High School deserves our help

By WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon - email

Lake High school was destroyed by tornadoes in June and for the next 2 years, the students will attend school in temporary replacement quarters on the Owens Community College campus.

It is not an ideal situation, so in an effort to make these temporary classrooms seem more like Lake High, we asked the school administrators to create a list of things they really need.

WTOL 11, The Blade and Buckeye CableSystem, have joined together to help. Click here for a list of things the school and the kids need.

If you or your company would like to provide an item from the list, it's easy. Just drop off the item at any one of a number of area locations or make a cash donation. It would be great if every item on the list was provided in the next 2 weeks.

No matter what, we will  celebrate that we are here and moving forward. Thanks for caring.

The recent decision of ProMedica's Board of Trustees to enter into a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, Toledo's last remaining abortion facility, just doesn't make sense.
