Toledo fire crews busy with suspected arsons over July 4 weekend

Fire crews in Toledo have already responded to calls for at least five suspicious fires over the July Fourth weekend.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Fire crews in Toledo have already responded to several suspicious fires in Toledo over the July Fourth weekend.

Crews responded to several fires in south Toledo Saturday morning. Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., alley fires were called in on Leland Avenue and Knower Street. Additionally, small house fires were reported on Broadway and Bowman Street. All of the fires were quickly extinguished.

Investigators do have a description of two people seen at the fires. They're following up on the tip, so the descriptions have not yet been released to the public.

Early Saturday morning, crews responded to a fire in the 1200 block of Page in north Toledo. No one lives in the house, and investigators are calling the fire suspicious.

Another fire broke out Friday night on the 500 block of Colburn in south Toledo just before midnight. Crews at the scene say the house is vacant. Fire fighters were able to quickly get it under control because they have a station nearby. No one was hurt in the fire.
