Wood County

In a news conference Tuesday, Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer stressed people who do not have immediate business in disaster areas need to stay out of the areas. All volunteer efforts are being handled through the United Way.

The United Way of Wood County says volunteer efforts are being handled through Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. Volunteers can just show up to help between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The church is located at 601 East Boundary. Volunteers must be 18 and over unless with an adult. All must have a photo ID.

They stressed tarps are needed Tuesday because of rain coming into the area overnight. Tarps will be used to cover damaged houses. They can be taken to Grace United Methodist Church.

All monetary donations to the United Way are being handled through All Saints Church in Rossford.

The United Way asks that bottled water, canned food and boxed food be taken to Mainstreet Church in Walbridge. Mainstreet Church located at 705 N Main Street.
