TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A rollover accident on I-75 around 2:30 Sunday morning killed one person.
It happened on on southbound I- 75 near the Phillips Road exit in Toledo.
Police say Kim Smith, 30 and of Toledo, was driving south on I-75 when she passed the Phillips exit and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle began to spin, struck the center median barrier and then began to roll. She was ejected from the vehicle and was trapped under it until rescue crews showed up.
Police say they located Smith's cell phone and that she was composing a text message seconds before losing control of the vehicle.
Southbound I- 75 was shut down for hours overnight.
