WTOL Editorial: Our actions speak louder

WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon

In the past few weeks, with the help of your incredible generosity, WTOL took the lead on two initiatives that really do make a difference.

Clothing Your Community collected more than 80 tons of clothes to distribute to people in need. That's about 250,000 pieces of clothing and pairs of shoes.

If you and your family could use some clothes, call 2-1-1 to set up an appointment.

I also attended the Make-A-Wish event Wednesday night. Dan Cummins emceed, but the real stars were all of you. Your kindness to these kids and their families was amazing to watch.

Sometimes we lose sight of what really matters. And sometimes we lose faith in the basic goodness of people.

Thank you for reminding me that hope and community are more than just words

The recent decision of ProMedica's Board of Trustees to enter into a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, Toledo's last remaining abortion facility, just doesn't make sense.
