Hours changes coming to Toledo libraries in October

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Here are the new hours for all the Toledo public libraries beginning on October 4, 2009.

Monday and Tuesday: Noon - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

  • Birmingham, 203 Paine Ave.
  • Lagrange, 3422 Lagrange St.
  • Maumee, 501 River Rd.
  • Mott, 1085 Dorr St.
  • Reynolds Corners, 4833 Dorr St.
  • South, 1736 Broadway St.
  • Washington, 5560 Harvest Lane
  • Waterville, 800 Michigan Ave.
  • West Toledo, 1320 Sylvania Ave.

Tuesday: Noon - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday - Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

  • Kent, 3101 Collingwood Blvd.
  • Locke, 703 Miami St.
  • Point Place, 2727-117th St.
  • Toledo Heights, 423 Shasta Dr.

Monday and Tuesday: Noon - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday - Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

* Sundays: 1 - 5:30 p.m.

New Fines and Fees

Effective October 4, 2009

  • Adult print: $.20 per day*
  • Senior print: $.10 per day*
  • Juvenile print: $.10 per day*
  • Adult audio: $.20 per day*
  • Juvenile audio: $.10 per day*
  • Senior audio: $.10 per day*
  • Adult video: $ 1.00 per day
  • Senior video: $.50 per day*
  • Juvenile video: $.50 per day*
  • Printing/copying: black and white, $.15 with Library debit card*  $.20 with coins*
  • AV security cases (willful damage): $ 3.00 per case*
  • Library card replacement: $ 1.00 adult / $.50 senior / $.50 juvenile

*Indicates adjusted fine. We have not raised fines on print and audio materials since 1986.
**We doubled the fines on DVDs and VHS tapes in January 2009.

Note: All items returned after October 4, 2009 will be charged at the new fines rate.

    Two people were shot at a home on Broadway on Tuesday afternoon. Police were called out to the house around 5 p.m. Both of the people shot were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time. Police have been interviewing witnesses on the porch of the home and several cones marked off shell casing locations. This story is developing.
