TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - An intense police standoff in west Toledo ended peacefully after 3 hours at a home in the 1500 block of Sabra.
Emergency crews got a call around 8 p.m. Saturday from a concerned woman who told police her adult daughter was holding a one-year-old child hostage.
Officers say the woman inside the home told them she would shoot anyone who came near the house, but after hours of negotiations, the woman and child were taken out of the home without incident.
Neighbors think the woman may have snapped.
"I don't know if it's maybe being a single mom, that things probably just got the best of her. I really think we need more programs to help the single ladies out here," said neighbor Terry Johnson.
No word from police if the woman will face charges and there is no indication on what sparked the standoff.
