TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - Starting next year, it is going to cost more to attend the University of Toledo. The UT Board of Trustees approved the tuition hike Monday, September 21.
This increase comes after a two-and-half-year tuition freeze.
The university says they had to raise tuition because they lost nearly $9 million in state funding. The 3.5 percent increase is the maximum allowed by the Ohio Board of Regents.
UT isn't alone in raising tuition. BGSU is expected to raise tuition 3.5 percent as well. Owens Community College is also raising tuition by 3.5 percent.
