TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Some south Toledo residents woke up to the sound of gun fire Sunday morning, September 13. "I heard a series of gun shots, and I heard Amber next door screaming," said resident Teresa Ratliffe.

Gun shots rang out just after 1:15 a.m. at 334 Leland. "I threw my shoes on and came out here and then just seen the dude laying on the porch -- dead," said Ratliffe.

Police say when they arrived, 24-year-old Steven Sattler was found dead on the porch.

Ratliffe said, "I just heard her saying you killed my best friend. You killed my best friend, and that was it."

Witnesses heard between 15 and 20 shots being fired.

William Morris lives right next store. One of the bullets came straight through his window, crossed his living room and went into the wall.

Evlyn Cranston lives in the same house and says she now is scared to play with her grandson outside. "With him, you know, we can't be having this, with a little 2 year-old running around."

Police spent most of the morning combing through the lawn looking for any clues leading them to the shooter. They are calling this case a murder.
