Monroe teen native killed while serving in the military

MONROE, MI (WTOL) - The Monroe Evening news is reporting that, Army Private First Class Eric Hario a Monroe native,  was killed in Afghanistan. He had been stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia.

He was serving overseas with the 75-th Ranger Regiment, First Battalion. Hario joined the military about 2 weeks after graduation from high school last year.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been made, and details of his death are not being released at this time. Hario was a 2008 graduate of Monroe High School and played both football and wrestling. He was 19 years old.
