Sinkhole monster strikes again in central Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - There's a new sinkhole in Toledo that's growing and residents are hoping to stop it once and for all. This hole is located in the 2100 block of Parkdale in central Toledo.

Ever since it began forming in early spring, neighbors have been complaining.

Whether she's on the porch or in the street, Lois Alexander can't keep her eyes off the sinkhole. It's surrounded by orange barrels and plastic fencing in the middle of her street.

Alexander says it's getting bigger and making things difficult for residents to back out of their driveways.

"I just don't want anybody to get hurt... (and) realize what's going on in the city, but don't just barrel it put some rocks in it," says Alexander.

People driving down the street are just plain tired, too.

"Sometimes the barrels aren't on display. They'll roll down the street because people will hit them," says Alexander.

At this point, she wants the city to fill it up with rocks.

A Note from ProblemSolver Mika Highsmith:

"I called the sewer department, who says they are extremely backed up. They are sending this one to an outside contractor and it should be done by the end of the week. If you're having a similar problem, call the 24-hour sewer line at 419-936-2924."
