RAISINVILLE TOWNSHIP (WTOL) - Investigators call whoever did this sick, disturbed and evil.

Two fisherman made the gruesome discovery Thursday afternoon, June 4 along the River Raisin in Raisinville Township.

It wasn't the news family members wanted to hear after investigators removed a body from the banks of the river. In a press conference, Monroe County Sheriff Tol,an Crutchfield said, "The body in appearance appears to be the same age, size and sex of Nevaeh Buchanan."

Two fisherman found the body in what investigators describe as a shallow grave about a foot away from the river. They say the body was covered with either concrete or cement. Watch the featured video for an interview with the heartbroken fishermen.

Sheriff Crutchfield says there were no physical signs of abuse. He adds, "Preliminary indications would be that it's been there for awhile."

Nevaeh went missing on May 24. She had been playing in the Charlotte Arms apartment complex parking lot when she vanished.

Crutchfield went on to say, "In my opinion, it is a very sick or disturbed person we are looking for. A person that is able to abduct and murder an innocent five-year-old child."

Investigators canvassed acres looking for Nevaeh, but the sheriff doesn't believe this area had been touched. "It would be virtually impossible in ten days to cover 640 square miles."
