OREGON, OH (WTOL) - Oregon's school board is taking the first step in getting a levy on the ballot.
A 10-year emergency levy will be placed on the August 4th ballot.
The 5.95 mill levy would generate more than 3.6 million dollars a year for the next ten years.
This levy would make up for some of the money lost due to State House Bill 66, which drastically cut income to school districts across the state.
The school board is expected to finalize the levy request next week.
