SOUTH TOLEDO (WTOL) - Toledo police are working their second murder investigation in just three days.
The latest killing happened Sunday, May 3, at 659 Congress in south Toledo. The victim was gunned down in front of his home.
Toledo police say the victim is 47-year-old Richard Soria. He was shot multiple times. Emergency crews rushed Soria to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center where he later died.
His killer remains on the loose.
Some of Soria's neighbors believe he'd still be alive had the city of Toledo not let go of 75 police officers on Friday.
"Ever since they laid off those police officers, every day since that day, there's been bad things happening, especially on the South end. I think the South end is bad. They need more officers on the South end than they need anywhere," said Aenthaeia Gibson.
A witness who saw the suspect take off describes him as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old. He's believed to have fled in a dark-colored SUV.
