MAUMEE (WTOL) - When the Rec Center doors open at noon, the first stop is registration.

"We would suggest that they pre-register. If they pre-register, they won't have to wait. They can come in, turn it in and go to the job fair," said Marte Sorg. You can click on this link to print the form. Then fill it out and bring it to the job fair.

116 businesses

Then it's off to the employers. A total of 116 businesses will be there. One thing that's different this year is that there's a lot more open floor space. The reason for that is to get more people through the Rec Center and onto all of the booths."

They're setup in four large squares. An entire section in the back is devoted just to the healthcare industry. "Why do they have so much? Well, we know the baby boomers are getting older, and they have openings in everything from laundry assistance to nurse practitioners," said Sorg.

30 Seconds to Sell

One stop everyone should make is the WTOL 11 booth for the 30 Seconds to Sell videos for prospective employers. "You get 30 seconds to showcase your talents, strengths, your history, your employment history and explain to them why you should be the person they hire," said WTOL Vice President and General Manager Bob Chirdon.

All of the videos will be posted on on their own channel.

"People in this county, people in this area need jobs. This is our effort to help them find them," said Chirdon.

With thousands of job seekers expected, you may have to wait. Sorg tells us, "Be patient. Employers aren't going anywhere, and when it's your turn to come in, they'll be here for you."

Best of luck.
