James Leroux pleads no contest to reckless homicide

TOLEDO (WTOL) - The man accused of killing the nephew of a Toledo police captain has just pleaded no contest to reckless homicide.

Police say James Leroux shot 16-year-old Luiz Ruiz in the chest earlier this year, then drug the body to his friend's front porch.

At the time, Leroux told officers Ruiz was the victim of a drive-by shooting. He'll be sentenced next month and faces up to 11 years behind bars.
