NEW YORK (NNS) - Drew Peterson says he tells his children their mother is on vacation and will never be coming home. Peterson's wife, Stacy, hasn't been seen in a year-and-a-half.
Investigators have named Peterson, who is a former police officer in the Chicago suburbs, a suspect in Stacy's disappearance. Peterson is also a suspect in the death of a previous wife, Kathleen Savio.
Savio's family this week filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Peterson. That suit claims Peterson and Savio fought during their divorce and that Peterson got into Savio's home twice without her permission. The family says one time, Peterson even crawled through a hole in the wall.
Savio's death was originally ruled an accident but was investigated further after Stacy Peterson disappeared in 2007.
Officials have now reclassified Savio's death as murder. Peterson has not been charged in either case.
Attorney John Q. Kelly represents Savio's family in the lawsuit and spoke with the CBS Early Show. Drew Peterson and the two sons he had with Kathleen Savio, Thomas and Kristopher were also interviewed.
