Wording on 'Take Back Toledo' petitions found valid

TOLEDO (WTOL) - Some had been questioning the legality of the Take Back Toledo petitions to recall Mayor Finkbeiner. One citizen brought up that the wording on the petitions does not exactly match the required wording according to Ohio law.

A decision was just released by Linda Howe, Lucas County Board of Elections Director. The board got two legal opinions, one with their legal counsel and one with outside legal counsel. Both found the petitions to be valid.

The Board is still validating the signatures to see if enough were collected to put the issue on the September primary ballot.
