CENTRAL TOLEDO (WTOL) - A fire began around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 in the 900 block of Lindsey at the intersection of Lawrence in central Toledo near Detroit Ave.

Fire is suspicious

Rob Wiercinski is live at the scene. He reports the home is a total loss. Early investigation calls the fire suspicious because the occupants of the home were not there at the time. Also, the intensity of the fire indicated it may have been deliberately set.

Second home burned

The winds blew flames to the roof of the neighboring house, which was occupied. Everyone evacuated the home, and fire fighters were able to put the fire out. The house was heavily damaged. Crews had to knock out a big hole in the roof.

Crews tell us there were some initial water flow issues to get water to the fire scene, but they were able to battle the blaze.
