Zoo throwing Earth Day party

A press release

TOLEDO - The Toledo Zoo is more than just a top attraction in this region-it's also a premier institution for conservation. So it's no surprise that the Zoo wants to make sure that Earth Day is a celebration to remember. Join the fun on Saturday, April 18, as the Zoo hosts Party for the Planet, an Earth Day bash that's full of eco-friendly fun.

Throughout the day, you'll see animal demonstrations and feedings, make some cool crafts, and learn more about the many small steps you can take to help the environment. Conservation-themed areas throughout the Zoo will show you how to be a better neighbor to your backyard wildlife, help save the rainforests, and conserve the Great Lakes and their watersheds. And for the littlest conservationists, Fisher-Price Planet Heroes Ace and Digger will be on hand as well.

In addition, thanks to Lucas County Solid Waste Management and Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful, you can recycle all sorts of items, including electronics, cell phones, computer equipment, and more. For a complete list of recyclable items and a schedule of demonstrations and feeding, visit the Zoo's website at http://www.toledozoo.org. The Toledo Zoo's Party for the Planet is presented by Fisher-Price, with supporting sponsorship from Bob Evans.
