Findlay airport receives $5M in stimulus funds

A press release: New Federal Funds Will Support Construction of Taxiway

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the Findlay Airport will receive $4,950,000 in new federal funds from the economic recovery legislation. The funds will be used to construct a new taxiway at the Findlay Airport.

"These funds are an investment in Findlay's infrastructure," said Brown. "The construction of a new taxiway at Findlay airport will create new jobs and bring new economic development to the region."

Findlay Airport, a general aviation airport, is located in the southwest corner of the city. Two runways are available to accommodate aircraft.

The economic recovery legislation included $1.1 billion in funds to address safety, security, and infrastructure needs of our nation's airports. Findlay is one of about 3,400 airports nationwide that is eligible for funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The funds were released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).
