TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - A Toledo fire fighter was injured battling a house fire on Forrest near Prospect.
The fire was reported just after 2 a.m. Tuesday. When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in a massive fire that caused one side to collapse onto a neighboring home.
The family in that home was evacuated. The extent of the damage at that neighboring home is not yet known.
A fire fighter sustained burns to his face and is being treated. Crews on scene say the burns do not appear to be too serious and that the fire fighter is expected to be ok.
Neighbors say the house had become a drug house and a haven for gang members. They also say the house was recently raided by cops who removed drugs and an assault rifle. Off camera, neighborhood residents say they're glad the house is gone because they're tired of the drugs, the break-ins and having to dodge bullets.
