TEMPERANCE, MICH. (WTOL) - You've heard of Filene's Basement in Manhattan, right? Well, a local bridal shop owner is offering a similar run-in-and-grab-the-gown-you-want event this Sunday, Oct. 11.
"These girls are just crazy and they all run in and knock the racks over and grab dresses from each other, and I thought, 'How much fun would that be to do here!'" said Yvonne Gallippo, owner of Gallippo's Bridal & Formalwear.
Gallippo's will put 900 dresses out on the floor at Memories Banquet Hall in Temperance, Mich., as part of An Affair to Remember Bridal Expo.
Brides-to-be will sprint around to nab wedding gowns discounted by 80 to 90 percent.
"It's just a beautiful little dress, and it'll be 80 percent. off. The original price... was $956 -- it'll be $191," explained Gallippo while holding up a dress.
And the deals just get bigger. A $10,000 designer gown that Gallippo paid $5,000 to have in the store will be on sale for $2,000.
A total of 30 vendors will be at the Expo offering discounts, freebies and giveaways.
John Kranjec, owner of Belamere Suites in Perrysburg, is one of them.
"We'll probably give away... a suite -- a presidential pool suite," Kranjec said.
