WOOD COUNTY, OH (WTOL) - Since 1992 one family has been paying off the mortgage on their Habitat for Humanity Home. They're overjoyed that it's finally all paid off.

The Jordan family's home sits at the end of a quite street in Bloomdale. It's surrounded by apple and pear trees; and even has a healthy patch of pumpkins.

Homeowners John and Carolyn Jordan say they never thought we would own their home. They say finally paying off their mortgage is a glorious feeling and they're really happy and excited.

They are the first family in Wood County to benefit from Habitat for Humanity -- and also the first to pay their off their home.

It sits among two others homes and is among the 28 habitat homes in Wood County.

"It's nice to have a place you can call home. A place that will always be there. A place you can go to," says John Jordan.

He says his family has been blessed because of the organization and that his family, and many other folks across the U.S., would've never had a home without Habitat for Humanity.

The couple says they have been blessed and are thankful for the organization's help. Without the group and their friends and family, the couple says they would never have owned a home.
