Nichole Vrsansky

Cleveland, Ohio

Nichole Vrsansky is a Westlake native. She joined the Cleveland 19 News team in September.

Nichole is thrilled to be living and working back in her hometown. For eight years, she worked at WIFR in Rockford, IL.

Like most in this field, Nichole says she started at the bottom, as the jack of all trades, producing, shooting video, editing and reporting. After a few years, she was promoted to the anchor desk.

She spent five years anchoring the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Nichole won the Illinois Silver Dome Award for a series called ‘Deadbeat Dilemma’, investigating numerous problems with the state’s child support collection system.

Ultimately the stories led to a change in policy and tougher penalties for those who were not paying.

Nichole graduated from Loyola University Chicago and the Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism. As part of the Medill program, Nichole lived in Washington D.C. and worked as a correspondent for the CBS station in Midland, TX.

In 2010, Nichole gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and decided to take a break from the news business to be a stay-at-home mom.

In 2012, Nichole welcomed a son into the world. Now that the kids are getting older, Nichole decided to get back to work, doing a job she loves.

You can watch Nichole weekdays from 4:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. reporting for Cleveland 19 morning show!
