The semi hit a guard rail in a construction area and a fuel line ignited, causing the fire.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Police Department announced that I-75 north and the I-75 ramp from the Anthony Wayne Trail is reopened after a semi was on fire Friday morning.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said the northbound I-75 is was shut down between I-75 and past South Ave.

TPD says the driver of the semi, identified as Bill Lockard, is okay and has no injuries. Lockard was driving a semi for Target when the accident happened.

The semi hit a guard rail in a construction area and a fuel line ignited, causing the gas tank to rupture and the semi to immediately burst into flames.

Police say Lockard tried to get off the road as best he could and was able to escape.
