SYLVANIA, Ohio — A local letter carrier from Sylvania received an award for his good deed he performed while on his route.
Letter carrier Jabari Hardiman was delivering mail when he heard a cry for help and found an elderly woman who had fallen.
Hardiman called 911 and stayed with the woman until help arrived.
For his actions, Hardiman received the Postmaster General Award for heroism.
The award is given to postal workers who perform superior contributions or achievements to society.
Hardiman was awarded the recognition Thursday morning at the Sylvania Post Office.
