Flag City Honor Flight 2020 season suspended due to COVID-19

Flights and bus trips will be able to resume once organizers can ensure the safety of everyone traveling.

FINDLAY, Ohio — Directors of the Flag City Honor Flight announced Monday that the remainder of the 2020 Honor Flight season would be suspended.

The decision was made in an effort to ensure the health and safety of participating veterans as the country continues to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

In a post on Facebook, representatives of the Honor Flight said that flights and bus trips will resume once they are able to make sure everyone traveling is safe and when organizers can provide the complete Flag City Honor Flight experience.

The post read, in part:

"Although we cannot travel with our veterans this year, we will be planning for the time when we all come together again to resume our missions. We treasure our veterans and look confidently to the future when we will serve our veterans by taking them on their Honor Flight."

Veterans are still able to submit applications and donations will be accepted.
