ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY: Armed suspects steal $200K in west Toledo home robbery

Video shows armed suspects in masks and gloves burglarizing a west Toledo home.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are requesting assistance identifying four suspects who broke into a west Toledo residence on May 21, 2022.

According to a police report, a residence on Quast Lane was burglarized by four individuals shortly after 2 a.m. The resident said he was sleeping in bed beside his girlfriend when the suspects awoke him and held him at gunpoint. They demanded he open his safe and threatened to kill him if he refused.

The man said he complied and opened the safe. The suspects stole approximately $200,000 dollars in cash and took the victims' cell phones. All four suspects were wearing masks and gloves. The victim said the suspects appeared to be in their 20s based on their voices.

The man and his girlfriend were ordered to enter a closet, which the man did. Due to recent surgery, the woman was walking slower, and did not get to the closet by the time the suspects fled the residence. According to the report, she was able to witness the suspects enter a white van and flee eastbound on Quast Lane.

Security cameras captured footage of the suspects outside and inside the building, which was released by the Toledo Police Department in a Facebook post.

Although the police report states four suspects were present, only three are ever seen on the compiled security footage.
