1 hospitalized following shooting in central Toledo

One person kicked in the door of a house during a party and started shooting, according to authorities.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A 20-year-old man is hospitalized after shots rang out at a party in central Toledo, according to police. 

Authorities say that based on what witnesses saw, someone kicked in the door of the house in the 2700 block of Lawrence Avenue and started shooting just before 2 a.m. Sunday morning. 

When police arrived on the scene, they were unable to locate a victim. Shortly after, a local hospital reported a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound.

The patient, 20-year-old Marquise L. Brown, was hospitalized with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police are still investigating the incident.
