TOLEDO, Ohio — This year's Alopecia Awareness Golf Outing is coming up quick.

The event is happening Monday, June 7 at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania.

It will be a four-person scramble.

That includes cart and green fees, lunch, access to driving ranges, a steak dinner, and awards.

Check in will be from 11 a.m. until noon.

All teams must be registered by June 1.

There will also be several contests held during the event, including a putting contest, longest drive and a 50-50.

Alopecia is a condition that causes a person's hair to fall out.

It develops when the immune system attacks the hair follicles, resulting in hair loss.

There are more than 200-thousand cases of alopecia per year.

Treatment can help, but their is no cure at this time.

Money raised from the golf outing will go to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and be used to help fund research to find a cure for the disease.
