The Glob
Glass Jar:
3 inches of water with food coloring of your choice
1/3 C. Vegetable Oil
Salt
Put water and oil in jar. Wait until it settles. Shake salt into jar. Oil and salt form a glob and sinks. The salt dissolves in water. The oil floats back up to the top.
Outrageous Ooze
1 C. cornstarch
Bowl
Food Coloring
1/2 C. Water
Put newspapers on counter. Put cornstarch into bowl. Add a drop or two of food coloring. Add water slowly, mixing with your fingers until the Ooze feels like a liquid when mixing it slowly. Try tapping with a spoon. It's ready when it won't splash. Pick up a handful and squeeze. Stop squeezing and it will drip through your fingers. When you bang on it, it acts like a solid. But when you let it free flow it acts like a liquid.
