TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Serious accusations are being made against the owner of a former eatery in Maumee, Mezzmerize, located at the corner of Dussel and Holland Road.

23-year-old Jordan Haynes started waiting tables at Mezzmerize when it opened last year, and he says for the most part it was a good working experience.

Jordan was receiving health care benefits, with 52 dollars being taken out of each paycheck. He says his problems began after his wisdom teeth were removed. Haynes says he had someone pick up his prescriptions and they were told his insurance had been canceled, leaving him with a bill of around 2,000 dollars.

He confronted the restaurant owner, Sam Bazzi. Haynes says he told Bazzi what he was doing was wrong and gave him the opportunity make it right. "He said I was insulting him by coming to him and asking for the money. He said I was being disrespectful."

Jordan's next step was to file a criminal charge against Bazzi. "There's a petty warrant out for him, but that doesn't mean anything...I don't really care about that, just do what's right. Take care of the bills. 2,000 dollars is a lot of money."

Phone calls to Mr. Bazzi were not returned.
