
LIMA (WTOL) - Ford Motor Company is laying off as many as 70 employees at a factory in Lima.
The company also plans to stop production for two weeks next month at the engine plant.
A spokesperson says the cuts are being made to match slowing consumer demand.
And, starting Monday, General Motors is elminating its Jobs Bank program. The program gives union workers most of their pay and benefits while they are laid off.
The 1,600 workers in the bank will be placed on layoff and will need to file for unemployment.
They'll receive about 72 percent of their salaries, through unemployment and subsidies.
