TOLEDO - This morning, the Toledo Zoo is mourning the death of one of its animals.
The mother of a baby colobus born in November got sick just after giving birth. She died on Tuesday.
Baby Asante is being reared by the Zoo's animal care staff and continues to thrive, representatives say. The Zoo is working with other zoos to find a female to be a surrogate mother for her.
